SWAN Telecom re- named Etisalat DB Telecom India PVT. LTD

Abu Dhabi, June 09 2009: The Board of Etisalat DB, today announced the ‘change of name’ of the erstwhile Swan Telecom, a joint venture between Etisalat and DB Realty. The company has officially been re-named as Etisalat DB Telecom India Pvt. Ltd. The company is headquartered in Mumbai, India.

Etisalat DB India Pvt. Ltd has been awarded the Unified Services Access License in 15 circles including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), Madhya Pradesh and Bihar.

Etisalat Announces Launch of GSM Operation in Afghanistan

Kabul, August 28, 2007: Etisalat Afghanistan is proud to announce its state of the art GSM service across The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which will be officially launched tomorrow 29th August 2007. Worldwide this will be Etisalat’s 14th country of operations.

Afghanistan Cricket Federation Thanks Etisalat for Sponsorship

Kabul Nov 13, 2007: The President of the Afghanistan Cricket Federation, Shahzada Masood, has appreciated Etisalat Afghanistan during a ceremony for sponsoring the national cricket team to participate in Asian Cricket Championship.

The ceremony was organized on Nov the12th by the President of Shamshad TV, Mr. Fazel Karim Fazel to celebrate the winning of the Asian Cricket Championship by the Afghan National Cricket Team. It was attended by members of the cabinet, members of the parliament, government officials, representatives of international community and other distinguished guests.


National Information and Communication Council Inaugurated

Kabul, May 28, 2007: The national Information and Communication council of ICT Afghanistan (NICCA) was inaugurated on Sunday.

According to Ahmad Zia Masood, first vice president and chairman of NICCA, the top priorities of NICCA will be to develop a strategic plan for information and communication technology (ICT), forming standard for hardware and software, coordination amongst government agencies, donor organization and private sectors in order to expand the opportunities of investment in the sector ICT.Ahmad Zia Masood added that establishing e-government was the top priority for NICCA.
